Things aren’t always as they seem. Take my friend Chase for example. Today is his 6th birthday. He doesn’t look six. He looks a lot older. That’s because he is 24 years old, thanks to February 29th only showing up during leap year.

The other day I was with Chase when a couple of elementary kids approached us. When Chase informed them that he would be six today, the boys got a surprised “Are we really older than you?” look on their faces.

As a leader, one of the most important things you can do is to bring a fresh perspective to your leadership culture.

If you are in a rut with your message, you might be forfeiting some of your influence. Perhaps the following story will cause you to think about how you are saying things.

Learn to communicate in a fresh way and you will be a better leader.

Happy Birthday Chase!
