On this day in 1898, British novelist, C.S. Lewis was born.  In addition to writing The Chronicles of Narnia, Lewis also wrote a book called The Screwtape Letters.

In the book Lewis tells the story of an old demon named Screwtape, and his nephew, Wormwood.  Screwtape, through a series of letters, advises Wormwood on how to bring about the damnation of a British man.

One of Screwtape’s best pieces of advise to Wormwood is to “Keep the humans busy.”

As the holidays approach, my hunch is you will face the temptation to hurry and scurry around in a busy blur.

I say, RESIST.

The next few weeks have the potential to be the fastest weeks of your year.  But they don’t have to be.

Maybe, just maybe, you could slow things down and “live in the moment.”  Each precious moment.

Doing so will require focus on your part.  A commitment to not wish your days away.

Over the next couple of days I am going to give you a couple of things to consider that might help you bust the busyness.

In the mean time, go slow today.
