Yesterday we had snow where I live. I think there were about 7 flakes.
In our town, that constitutes a blizzard.
The grocery stores were raided. People were glued to weather reports. And at the end of the day, not a flake stuck to the ground.
However, the snow created a potential dilemma for me.
I was planning to run a 5 miler. But who runs outside when it is 30 degrees and the wind is blowing 30 mph? Not to mention the blizzard.
I had a decision to make. It was the same decision I have to make every other day. “Would I do the right thing or would I look for an excuse and fold?”
It is the same decision you have to make every day too. The answer to the question determines whether you are “fit” to lead or not.
After making the right choice, I can tell you that the pain of the cold wasn’t as bad as the pain of the regret I would have felt if I had stayed on the couch.
Over the next few weeks, there will be extra calories available at parties. The weather in most places will be less than ideal. The December blahs will try to bait you to wait till the new year.
How are you doing with your fitness this past month?
