Are You Figuring it Out as You Go?

Author Anne Lamott once wrote, “The truth is no one knows what they’re doing most of the time. We figure it out as we go. We figure it out together.”
Can you relate to Anne’s words? Are there places in your life where you are figuring it out as you go? Are there people surrounding you who are helping you to figure it out?
Spend some time today figuring something out and take five minutes to write an encouragement note to someone who has encouraged you lately.
Maybe it is time for us all to admit we have no idea what we are doing. I’m here to tell you it is okay to be clueless.
You’ll figure it out – that’s what leaders do … together.

I keep saying something similar on our adventure of replanting The Stone Church….we just have to keep doing the right things, the right way, with the right heart and we’ll be all right.
Thanks for permission to be somewhat clueless. That is what walking by faith is, isn’t it? God called Abram to “go”, and then he would show him where he was taking him. Genesis 12

John,
Thanks for the transparency as I am looking at the prospect of Church Planting for the 2nd time and as a much wiser and patient person.

I have struggled with this specifically in how to view failure as a good thing – learning one more way NOT to do something as helpful in making progress towards actually achieving a goal. I also find myself in that gray area of waiting long enough to allow a new tactic to become fruitful without being foolish and waiting too long to abandon it in favor of trying something new.

I feel your pain, Eric. Stay the course!

Here is my “note” to say thanks for helping to “figure” it out. Smiles
