Are You Producing Leaders or Followers?

Political activist Ralph Nader may have missed it in his five attempts at the U.S. presidency; but he nailed it when he once said, “I start with the premise that the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.”

I hope YOU are developing leaders and not followers.

Take some time today to intentionally invest in the leadership development of someone on your team.

As a former teacher I always felt my goal was to teach my students to become self-learners, and make my role as the teacher obsolete. To me, there should be no greater goal in the life of a teacher or leader than to become obsolete! However, too many fear relinquishing the authority and power, but success is not in the number of followers but in number of teachers and leaders produced under one’s care.

Well said. As a former teacher, coach and now serving as a school leader, I wholeheartedly agree!
