It is a new year. What is your baseline? Your starting point?
What if you used last years accomplishments as this year’s baseline?
Maybe there are some things you need to stop doing. For those habits you plan to continue, last year could be your baseline.
Look back over how you did on all your goals in 2011 and push yourself to go further, faster, longer, higher. You can do it.
But only if you use last year’s achievements as this year’s baseline.

What is one thing you accomplished in 2011 that you would like to improve upon in 2012?
This week of blog has been fantastic! Great enlightenment! I really like measuring last year’s accomplishments and pushing myself this year to go another step further, if I don’t measure myself how well do I know that I am doing? One thing I want to improve on in 2012….wow, so many things. I know I can be better at whatever I am doing by going the extra mile. I don’t always want to do it but have to push to do it sometimes. I have so much to learn and I try to bring that into the workplace with the people I manage. So often I will have someone say do I have to learn that? Or are we going to take that on too? I never say no to more work because if we don’t do it they can find someone else who will. I tell my folks all the time the more you know the more marketable you are. They seem to get that. I need to learn how to be a better father, as I am a new father as of 2011, a better husband, a better leader, a better follower of Christ. I am trying to judge myself and not others for that is what God wants me to do.
I am sure I am not making any sense here this morning but you got me thinking this morning and that is a good thing. Sorry for the rambling and thank you for your devotion to this blog. It helps me be a better person and leader here in the work place and at home.
God Bless,
Stephen LaFond
Thanks Stephen. Great thoughts!
Randy – Happy New Year! I hope to work on being a better person overall in 2012. My single biggest goal is to figure a way to help others in a more substantial way. I need to commit the time and resources to share the blessings I have been given. Professionally, my department is in a very transitional time. I need to provide better communication and leadership to get everyone moving in the right direction.
I also am going to run another 1/2 this year!
Thanks again for signing me up for your blog!
