Check two off of the The Bucket List for me.
First, I made it all 31 miles and completed my first Ultra Marathon on Saturday, at the North Face Endurance Challenge on the F.D.R. Trail at Pine Mountain. What an amazing day! Brutal, but amazing.
Crossing the finish line and receiving that medal brought an incredible sense of accomplishment.
The second drop in “The Bucket” was meeting, and running with, Ultra Marathon Man, Dean Karnazes.
Dean is one of the most accomplished endurance athletes on the planet, most notably running 50 marathons in 50 states on 50 consecutive days.
Dean made a statement this weekend that applies to every area of life. I will let you chew on it today and decide for yourself how to apply it to your own life and leadership.
Dean said . . . “The only thing standing between you and your dreams, is you.”
Not anymore!
i2i,
Randy
What is something that is on your Bucket List?
Way to go Randy!! You were in my thoughts and prayers and I am so pleased that you were able to complete the entire race! What an accomplishment!
“The only thing standing between you and your dreams, is you.”
What a powerful statement, I know I am suppose to be reading your blog everyday! Just another elbow in the ribs from God. Pastor Ken’s sermon this weekend was just about this, me, I am the only one standing in the way of being more Christ like. I can do anything with God as long as I get the heck out of the way and try to run the show myself. I think I will get the heck out of the way and let the Director direct.
Thank you for this daily blog!
God Bless,
Stephen
Thanks Stephen. You can do it!
I am so proud of you Big Bro! You are a leader in every sense of the word. I love you and am blessed to be your sister!

GREAT JOB RANDY!!!! What an amazing accomplishment!
I like the Run Club USA shirt you are wearing! Did you get Dean to join our Club. BTW, you’re now off probation!
Dean wants info!
thanks Matt. The lunch on Friday pulled me though!
Randy,
Great accomplishment and inspiration. Plus you got to meet Dean. He was a keynote speaker a couple of years agoa at a trade association I belonged to. I think he’s a testament to his statement because as he described the 50 marathons in 50 days, there was a lot of uncertainty, but he found ways to do it. Just as you found ways to complete all 31 miles on Saturday.
Congrats again.
Thanks Mark!
In your own words, “That’s a Beauty!” Way to go!The biggest compliment I can give you is that I knew you would make it! That’s who you are.
thanks Gerri. I love it!
