“People seldom improve when they have no other model but themselves to copy.” That quote from Oliver Goldsmith is a great reminder that we all need to surround ourselves with people who can help us raise our game.
Remember when you were a kid and you played “Follow the Leader” with your friends? Your job was to simply do what the leader did.
Perhaps you could use a fresh dose of “Follow the Leader” this week. Do you have a mentor who is investing in you as a leader? Are you reading and gleaning from a favorite author? Is it time for a lunch and learn with a trusted sage?
If your only plan for improvement is to copy yourself, good luck with that.
Why?
Because, “People seldom improve when they have no other model but themselves to copy.”

What do you look for in a mentor?
Who do you have that is investing in your life on a consistent basis?
My new boss is definitely someone I can glean wisdom from and grow beyond where I am at today… I am grateful God brought me where I am at so that I can grow…
Thanks,
Jason
That’s great, Jason!
I try to find Luke 2:52 people – people who are growing spiritually, physically, mentally, socially, etc…
Great (specific) target Jeremy!
People like you! You have a lot to share… thankful you have a platform to share it on.
Thanks Kelly!
