Every coach will tell you, “Talent matters.” There is a lot of truth to the old saying, “Winning is not as much about the X’s and O’s as it is the Jimmy’s and Joe’s.”
Look at the rosters of this past weekend’s Super Bowl teams, the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers, and you will see both organizations were loaded with talent.
As a leader, your job is to make sure you have the right people on your team.
Good people, yes. But your good people better be talented people.
If you have to choose between somebody who is good and not talented and someone who is talented but not good, then I say, choose neither.
Go find someone who is good (high character) and talented. I would rather wait on the right person, than settle for the wrong one.
You may think you are a smart leader, and you may be. All I know is, if you master the art of finding the right people, you will look brilliant.

Tools, Talent, and Toughness (Better know as makeup) Character and integrity on and off the field. A deep desire to compete and be a winner. Team before self.
Great stuff KB!
Today’s message reminds me of the hiring process of my current job. It is so true to find the right person and not just settle. I can see the difference between old jobs and where I am at now…
I pray that God will enable me to have wisdom in choosing the right person and not just settle…

Thanks Jason!
