This coming weekend millions of people around the world will remember the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ by celebrating Easter. While I respect the fact that many of you may not be a follower of Jesus, I personally have chosen to put my faith in Him, and I seek to follow His teachings.

In fact, I believe Jesus is the greatest leader who has ever walked on this planet.

This week, I am going to share five of my favorite leadership principles. Each one was taught by Jesus when he lived on earth, two-thousand years ago.

Principle #1 – “. . . whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” Mark 10:43

The greatest leaders that I know of are servants. They put others first and understand the need to add value to their team members.

The temptation is to believe that your employees are there to serve you. If you truly want to be a great leader, flip your thinking upside down, heed the words of Jesus, and start serving your team.

Remember, “. . . whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.”
