Saturday I joined a friend of mine in running the Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon.
This made marathon #7 for me. Each time I undertake one I learn something new. But after running a handful of them, one lesson has remained constant.
That is, “the last six miles are harder than the first twenty.”
When it comes to leadership, there is a similar principle at work . . . Many leaders start well. Few go the distance.
When it comes to being sustainable, are you on the right track or are you about to be derailed?
Are you a finisher? A strong finisher?
As you begin a fresh week of leadership I encourage you to keep your focus.
There are no prizes given out at the twenty mile mark. Those are reserved for those who finish.

Wow man! (6). I am very impressed. Thanks for sharing your insights
thanks Scott
Very inspiring!
your turn Melanie!
This is one of if not the most important lessons in leadership. We can all have great ideas and develop plans but if we do not finish what we start we’ll have confused followers and end in disarray. Thanks for the reminder and I’m proud of my big brother. Love ya!
Great job in the marathon and great example set. When others see you tough it out in the marathon and do not give up, it shows hey, I can do this too! Leaders lead by example and you do!!
thanks Mike!
thanks kid!
