A rose bush has a limited amount of nutrients available to it. When allowed to grow wild, it never reaches its full potential. For that to happen, pruning is necessary.
Our lives are no different. We all have limited capacity. Every time we add something, our capacity takes a hit.
If today finds you marred by mediocrity, may I remind you it is a good time of year to prune.
Eliminate something and watch what happens. You will be well on your way to flourishing as a leader.

Why do you think it is so hard for a leader to prune?
I know I need to prune things out of my life. The question is what goes. Also what I want to let go I find I can’t do so at the moment. Maybe it is fear or uncertainty that prevents me from doing so? Thanks Randy for the blogs…

Jason – you might want to read Necessary Endings by Henry Cloud. I think it would help you with your “pruning.” Thanks!
I second that, Ja. I know I have to prune, but I’m not sure what to prune. Do you have any suggestions as to how to evaluate?
Maybe I will do a “How to” pruning post, Mandy. I would also recommend Cloud’s book, “Necessary Endings.” Great read on the subject! Thanks!
