Excuse me? Did I hear someone say V.C.U. just won a trip to the Final Four of men’s college basketball?
You heard me right. The little school from Richmond that “thought it could” just did. They defeated powerhouse Kansas, 71-61, yesterday to advance and blow up what was left of everyone’s brackets.
V.C.U. will now play Butler for the right to move on to the National Championship game.
Butler? Yes Butler.
No Duke. No North Carolina. No Ohio State.
After yesterday’s win, V.C.U.’s coach, Shaka Smart (I’m not making up the name) was quoted as saying, “We really did a good job of sticking together as a team.”
I’ll say.
V.C.U. barely even made it into the tournament. Now 5 upsets later, they sit on the verge of the unthinkable.
V.C.U. has again reminded us of the power of teamwork.
Perhaps you have forgotten just how much can be accomplished when a team works together?
